What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that focuses on how bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and other connective tissues function as a unit. Osteopathy recogises the link between the structure of the body and how it functions. Utilising skilled examination, diagnosis and techniques such as massage, manipulation, mobilisation, dry needling, and muscle energy technique, osteopaths are able to assist with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditons.
Osteopaths are required to complete a 5 year University degree and are AHPRA registered covering all major health funds.

What to expect at an Osteopathy consultation.
DISCUSSION: You and your practitioner will have a conversation regarding your health history and presenting complaint. Together you will discuss what may be causing your symptoms.
ASSESSMENT: Looking at a range of movements and utilising special tests, your osteopath will observe any restrictions and dysfunctions contributing to your presenting condition. These findings will be the basis of constructing a management and treatment plan tailored to your needs.
TREATMENT: Techniques such as massage, manipulation, mobilisation, dry needling, and muscle energy technique will help to get symptoms under control and manage causative factors contributing to your condition.
